Chris Borg

Group CFO

Chris graduated twice from the University of Malta with First Class Degrees in Business Management, and in Finance and Accountancy in 1997 and in 1999, and holds a Masters Degree. He started his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he managed and worked across a number of financial audit engagements, internal audit programmes and consultancy assignments across Europe.

In 2004, Chris was engaged to set up the internal audit function and act as Chief Internal Auditor of the largest insurance group in Malta, listed on the stock exchange. He spent more than 8 years in the insurance industry, assuming other senior management roles including the post of Vice-President with one of the subsidiaries of a global insurance Group. He also served as a Member on the Board of Directors on another subsidiary within the same insurance group. In his career he was also the CFO for a Group of companies with a listing on the stock exchange, involved in the retail, automotive and property industries.

Chris is a founder member and acted also as President, of the Malta Forum of Internal Auditors. He lectures on governance, internal audit and risk management and has served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of a number of private entities.

Chris joined Comlux Group in 2013 and is now the Group’s Chief Financial Officer. He is also a Member on the Board of Directors of the Comlux Group and a member on the two main Executive Committees of the Group.
